| Fast cruiser intended
for tours on a day trip basis along the Mediterranean coast, in addition
to water-skiing, anchoring, swimming. The D44 is designed for high speed
transits at 50 knots and up, with ZF surface drives and 2x 800 horsepower
MAN diesels. The exterior is styled as a modern classic with mahogany
and teak details. The hull is constructed in fiberglass reinforced composite
with a GRP hard top, deck and interior are in wood.
The yacht complies
with EC regulations 'class B' and will have a crew limit of 8 persons.
The forward cabin
is air-conditioned with standing headroom and has a seating annex sleeping
arrangement, a shower/toilet unit on the port side and a changing room
on the starboard side, symmetrically located. The forward cabin is entered
from the cockpit via two mahogany doors and a set of stairs. The stairs
conceal the opening to the pumping room, located below the cockpit floor.
The cockpit features
the steering console on the starboard side, a u -shaped seating arrangement
grouped around two tables and two pantry units. A canvass sunroof provides
light and air when required. Two hatches aft of the cockpit provide
access to the fender room. The fender room allows for quick storage
of ropes, fenders and gear to maintain a clean boat. Cockpit and cabin
sole are in teak. All interior in varnished mahogany.
The swimming platform
at the stern allows for easy access to the water and functions as a
basis for water-skiing and swimming. The platform is in stainless steel
and teak bars. Two steps in the stern and a teak lined pathway recessed
in the motor room hatch provide safe access to the cockpit. A retractable
ladder and shower are located at the stern. A hydraulic gangway is operated
from the swimming platform and extends out of the stern.
The twin motor room
hatches are opened electrically and provide access to the motor room.
The swimming platform remains accessible with two opened hatches.
