No two persons are alike when it comes down to boating requirements. Depending not only on matters of taste but also on a boat's personal use and sailing environment, a boat is a very personal matter.

There are endless variations with respect to the desired length, power, speed, interior and additional features like beds, galleys and storage. Specifying from scratch is not an easy task, and a conceptual starting point can be helpfull especially when one only has a 'vague' idea of his or her ideal boat.

The following artist impressions are visualizations made by the Swedish designer Bo Zolland. Born in 1952 he got bitten by the wooden boat bug in 1963 (top left) while sitting in his uncle's Caravelle with a Merc 6 in-line engine. He has been drawing wooden boats as long as he can remember and lives in Umeå (North of Sweden) with his wife and two children.

Apart from designing wooden boats he restored a 1937 Chris Craft and several Scandinavian boats.
